After the wedding, the reception plays a very important part in any
wedding celebrations. Sometimes people pay too much attention on the
wedding details, and forget all about the reception decorations. If
nothing else is done about the reception preparations, at least the
reception table should be laid up.
One of the many reception table ideas consists of using fillers in
setting the wedding atmosphere. As this may be rather expensive, you
could implement by using balloons, confetti, silk flowers, crepe paper,
glass marbles or chips or any table fountain that you have. Besides all
of these, you can also include thinkables like potpourri, dried flowers
or incense in the reception table. They help liven the atmosphere,
while making the table look interesting! No wedding is complete without
the traditional candles.
Think up some great reception table ideas that will keep people talking
for some time; like perhaps a frozen ice sculpture in the punch! Using
elegantly shaped glasses in the reception table is also a great idea.
Perhaps two elegant stemmed glasses from which the couple has to drink
their punch; this acts as a decorative piece, and adds romance to the
air! Another great idea would be to have a romantic and beautiful
picture of the newly wedded couple as the reception table center piece
to add some romance to the wedding reception.
Instead of just placing the framed picture of the bride and groom,
you could also place some wedding favors or chocolates with the photo.
This would make a wonderful table centerpiece! The other dining tables
of the reception could have a glass bowl of colored water with its
floating candles and rose petals in it. Or perhaps you could place
ceramic pots that are filled with flowers and ribbons. And for memory's
sake, you could place some small sacks of potpourri on the tables, for
the guests to take with them home.
The buffet table is another important table of the wedding
celebrations. A great idea for this table would be to skirt it to the
floor, and then raise a platform using bricks or books. This platform
would be covered with cloth under each platter of food and have flowers
scattered around; just imagine the scene! And don't forget the cake
table; place some candles on the table after skirting it and then place
a vase of flowers to add a touch of elegance to the table! The sky is
the limit in reception table ideas; so try to reach the sky!
