Edible Favor Ideas

Like most couples, you want to convey your gratitude to your wedding guests with a wonderful wedding favor. Forget about the keepsakes that will set on the shelves collecting dust. Give your guests a wedding favor that they can actually enjoy. Something that will cater to all of your guests, you and old, yes: edible wedding favors.

Before you select which edible wedding favor that you should supply to your guests, consider the atmosphere and decorations for the wedding reception. If you’re having a summer wedding, you’ll most definitely want to keep chocolates refrigerated. It will only take minutes in a non-air conditioned room for chocolate to melt. That’s something you want to avoid. This is not to say that chocolate is not a wonderful wedding favor idea, it’s a wonderful concept. Just use precaution when selecting chocolates and make accommodations to preserve the shape.

Nowadays, chocolate dipped spoons have become increasingly popular wedding favors. These plastic spoons are dipped in chocolate which can be used to stir in coffees. It adds an extra flavor to the coffee and children can lick the chocolate off the spoons too! To add a personalized touch, have an embossed ribbon attached to each sppon. The ribbon should announce your names and wedding date. The ribbon can be kept as a keepsake and added to a photo album over pictures of you and your new spouse.

In addition to chocolate, flavored jelly beans, hard candy, and personalized candy bars have been well received as wedding favors at many receptions. It’s important to inquire about any family allergies prior to purchasing edible wedding favors. If not, than at least announce the ingredients of candy at the wedding reception. You can add a personalized touch to any of these wedding favors, by using an image on a candy bar wrapper. The candy can be eaten and the wrapper can be saved!

Whatever edible wedding favors you select for your guests to savor, it will be well received. Put time and energy into the packaging. If you can’t afford expensive candies, wrap kisses in tulle with a little note: A kiss from us to you, thank you for joining us to celebrate our special day.” Although it’s a simple message and a simple gift, it’s from the bottom of your heart. That’s the most important part of any wedding favor - the message conveyed.
